Think of how things can be, not as they were, in another time and place. Superconductors, photonic/electronic controls, maglev, Segway, cyberspace, photovoltaics, fuel cells, in-wheel electric motors, are technologies which help mobility. When the section 179 deduction of vehicles over 6000 lbs changes to a surcharge and you can instead write off the total cost of a hybrid (or any other fuel efficient vehicle) in the year of purchase, some of these things might happen. For some reason its more appealing to beat the war drums. Why?
