My hearing isn't as good as it used to be, after working around aircraft for 20 years but it's still good enough that I can figure out cords etc. Why? You have a song you want figured out?

If you just need chords most popular music isn't too hard. Generally speaking you can get the basis (letter) of the chord of a song by listening to the bass line, then it's just a matter of figuring out the flavor of the chord sound ie. Major=resolved, Minor=sad, 7th=leading Dim/aug=dissonant
Of course there's combinations of the above but I'll keep the lesson concise.
