Aus is much better - if you get rich you get rewarded by not having to pay tax anymore :) And the rates on the average tax payer aren't so high now in the last three years since the opposition allowed the Liberals to raise the brackets to something more sensible (when I went to Aus the top rate came in at $50k and when I left it hadn't progressed very far - now it is at $125k). But they complain and claim that the tax system is a disincentive to growth or whatever - because it slams yuppy lawyers etc. who spend all their money...
