Well, I do agree that FEMA has met all of GW's expectations and his standards of performance. Of course, so do the three stooges.

"You see American FEMA did an outstanding job"

Mr. Watson, you have held this position since day one of the Hurricane. It seems no one really shares it with you. Not the President, not the Head of Homeland Security, not the deputies at FEMA itself. Not the owners of the trucks filled with ice and water sent driving all over the country by FEMA while citizens badly needed their cargo. You cite big numbers as proof of FEMA's competence, but with its budget and its mandate the numbers don't cut it. It was slow, disorganized, poorly led and still seems to be trying to find its stride.

Without being critical or taken as snide, why do you see competence in what almost everyone else from Trent Lott to Newt Gingrich to John McCain see as sloppy?

You are an engineer. You deal in specifics and exactitudes. The FEMA performance does not seem to meet those standards.
