I an a centrist-progressive democrat. I support the mainstream Dems, not the more liberal. I would vote for a GOP moderate before I voted, say, for Kucinich or someone liberal like that. I tolerate Howard Dean, but only because he's a fiscal conservative and connects with young voters well. My four big issues are honesty in government, fiscal conservatism, environment/clean energy and smart military-diplomacy.

One thing you must realize, many of the old-style liberal policies ended during the Clinton years. CLinton proved that being fiscally conservative, minimizing entitlements to rational levels, paying as you go and being bi-partisan is the right thing to do. It's also sometimes right to be a bit hawkish, though rationally and intelligently, not in a knee-jerk unilateral manner.

I guess you could say I'm a Clinton democrat, though I'm not much of a Hillary fan. She's not bad, but I can think of ten Dems I'd rather see in the WH ahead of her, and maybe even a few GOP moderates. I like Chuck Hagel, for instance.

2006 is what's important now though. That's when everything will change and Bush-Cheney will be in line to be impeached with extreme prejudice. It could make Watergate look small-time. Every single big-time Bushie could be gone from power by then. Gone in shame, I might add, and several of them in prison, and the big oil/radical religious right alliance will be shattered forever more. That aliance has done our country great-great harm.
