Unlike Anne, I wouldn't stop people from building wherever they want. I would just quit subsidizing them.

Like Lott, I'd like to live on the beach. I have lived on the beach. Wish I could afford to do it now.

I caught the Texas governor on TV this morning. I was pleased to see he appeared to be on top of the Rita thing. What struck me was how clear he was that it was Texas's responsibility to deal with this, in partnership with others. Unlike a certain other governor and her apologists.
