i'm happy to report that the XAU put/call OI ratio has begun to rise significantly. it still is in a relatively low percentile ( 29% ) vs. the readings over the past year, but the recent corrective swoon brought out put buyers, with yesterday's volume p/c ratio clocking in at 1.81, and the resulting open interest ratio at the end of the day rising to 0.76.
this is definitely the kind of thing we want to see, as the put additions create new and higher support levels, while at the same time, calls have actually been taken OFF the board, which opens the possibility of an even bigger rally.
of course we'll have to wait and see if this very recent trend continues, but it is definitely so far a step in the right direction.
