Surprise. Surprise. Surprise. Actually I'm not and I won't be surprised if they find out that the walls were not built to spec. (Now, let me see, under whose administration were those walls built? That evil George W. Bush? Mais non! They were built under the watchful eye of those professionals hired by Bill Clinton!)

As more facts finally surface, we are going to find that there is egg enough to cover just about everyone's face and that some stone-throwers (left, right and hysterical) have a lot to apologize for (although I doubt they ever will).

For example, to name an easy one, I wonder what percentage of the American public honestly believes that George W. Bush is personally responsible for the levee collapses because he "cut funding" as was broadcast repeatedly across the country in the immediate after the hurricane. In the rush to judgment and hysteria fed by the mass media, the truth about so many aspects of this disaster has largely remained hidden from view, making only the occasional appearance in a corrections column. Too bad.
