Sun, I know the conventional wisdom these days is that humanity is a fungible mass of equally valid cultures, none better than others, and DNA all equal, with each child born as a blank slate, equally able. That's a flat Earth view. One can hold all the inquisitions one likes, burn as many at the stake as is tiring and until the heavens resonate with the screams of the disaffected but the idea still is false. Nature is a merciless taskmaster and has unlimited room for burying false ideas and the DNA which acts on the false ideas. There have been petatrillions of deaths over half a billion years to get human DNA and knowledge up to where we are now. Our surviving ancestors wended their way through an infinite array of situations, mostly by pure good fortune but increasingly by intellectual horsepower as our brains developed conceptual abilities. All currently living things are the tip on a half billion year long continuous chain of DNA, twirling around itself, recording what was successful so the same thing could be tried again in the next attempt at getting through the challenges. Each individual is the end of that process. They are fitted up with their DNA, hand-me-down cultural ideas, and a 3D reality in the here and now to challenge. Each individual is different, each cultural approach is different and each 3D reality is different. None are identical. Nature hasn't produced a horde of clones for the purpose. Nature has created an infinite array of humans to take on the situation, with groups having similarities in DNA and cultural norms to act in synergy, that approach having been successful. Nature made the Jews such angels. They have a cultural trend and DNA different from others. They get overly excited and call themselves the chosen people, which is obviously nonsense because they are not even 1% of the 6 billion humans who are all alive and ipso facto equally successful individually. What happens next is another matter. <What makes you think Jews would behave any differently?> People behave differently, given apparently identical situations. Groups behave differently too. Which means that the group average is different from other groups. It might be possible to find a racist genocidal Jew out to exterminate all apostates and infidels, but we don't see many of them expressing such views in public. That is certainly not the norm. It is very easy to find racist genocidal Islamic Jihadists. Not all people with power behave identically. Some are "Good Kings", some are hideous sadistic marauding monsters. Some fathers are brutal thugs, others are creative enhancers. They have power over their offspring and adopted infants and women, by sheer force. Laws increasingly circumscribe what they do, though there is sufficient leeway that plenty of fathers find plenty of opportunity to be thugs. Others are great. Nature will sort out who was right and who was wrong. We can look at what has happened in the past and remember it to see what is likely to be a good idea these days. Libertarian ideas seem to be most successful. Genocidal territorial tribal alpha male kleptocratic conquest dominance hierarchy societies are not as successful, though they certainly had their day and are still endemic. Jews are different from Islamic Jihad. They behave differently. They behave differently because their DNA is different and because they have different cultures and because their 3D situations are different, on average. I'm sure you are statistically literate enough to know we are discussing averages here. Some ignorant people pull out a few individual examples where the reverse is true and think that is a falsification of the theory. No. All it proves is what I'm saying, that there's a wide array of variance in any group. So, now you know and have learned something new so you can sally forth into your personal 3D challenges and be less likely to stumble into your personal demise. You might pass on better memes to your offspring and their DNA might survive. What's best is you don't even have to pay me any money. My payment is more good sense in the world, making it more likely to perform well, overall, against the array of challenges which could lead to my downfall. Noblesse oblige, Mqurice
