It's simple, a sicko made a name for himself by murdering 3000 Americans in a big action. His act based on lies was a rallying point for other sickos to attempt the same. Iraq and Afghanistan is showing the Arab world the power and goodness of America and the evil of the wackos. Iraq had a wacko leader and enormous resources that were being diverted to the wacko. Now a critical mass of enlightenment is being build. The people of Iraq were in a destroyed country not unlike Europe or Japan after WWII.

I believe the investment in Iraq will pay long term dividends of peace and prosperity. It also functions as a superb live fire training ground for the soldier who will defend America over the next decades.

It is also a great tool for learning how one rebuilds a destroyed country.

There were many victims of Katrina. And there are many sources of help. Some need more help than others. Given all that, I'm trying to understand your point.
