Friedman is one of my favorite columnists and writers, but I don't care for Dowd. I do read her though, if someone posts her.

I can't speak for CR, but I believe the notion of "neutral" isn't about having no position as much as a place for all positions, somewhere they could be examined from several angles by minds still willing to attempt objectivity and stay polite in the process.

I don't think there is any doubt about the growing unhappiness with Bush. I certainly won't argue with you. There is also a lot of doubt that the Democrats offer anything better.

It's fine to believe that Bush is a disaster, but that doesn't mean you should ignore facts that lead away from him for some of the causes of problems. Hatred of the present needs more than the eruption of bile to be constructive for the future.
