We agree on all points.
I posted before - and you obviously over looked it - that running a car on premium when the engine was designed to run on regular is but a waste of money!

Taro, that's because your Beamer is tuned to run on premium gas. Same thing with mine and maybe Ted's. You can fill-er-up with regular in a pinch, but the mileage and the performance will suffer, so it's not recommended unless you have no other choice.

I fill mine up with the intermediate grade. At first I alternated between premium and the intermediate grade but then I spoke to a mechanic at the dealership. He said putting intermediate was fine........that it usually didn't effect performance. Ever since, I have been putting in the intermediate and the performance seems the same but then I am not real sensitive to those issues.
