if my time in goatland is anything to go by there will be a lot of people with PhD's in Geology, etc bought and paid for locally, who have no clue what is going on but will sell themselves as experts.

I have two engineers who work for me that I was shocked to find they hold PhD's. They are sharp for goatland but without assistance in planning and foresight, operations would halt within three months.....

I would say a PhD in goatland is about equal to a 2 year degree anywhere in the real world.....
