Geode, I meant land on the outskirts of cities, not land in Montana or Mongolia. The planners don't like urban sprawl. It goes against their ideology.

People generally like company, and high quality services, such as fibre cyberspace, airports, retail services, restaurants, movies, like-minded people and family relationships. Those are found in cities.

They also like room to move at a reasonable price. Which is found on the outskirts, or nearby hinterlands, not in a 40th floor apartment.
