I'm 100% certain. No country in history (of any antiquity) has ever remained under original ownership or direction. You didn't say that you said that a totalitarian turn of Government and a military takeover of Government would both happen. Either one could happen without both happening. Also the US might be politically or physically destroyed without having either of these things happen. Certainly I don't anticipate that the United States as it is currently constructed will last forever, but it might not change in those ways. It might change in other ways, and eventually it will come to an end, perhaps before the changes you mention happen. "Cars do other things besides killing people, so do guns" seemed intriguing to me. We know that cars are expressly designed for purposes other than killing and that when people are killed by cars it is usually accidental. So now your changing your criteria from serving some other purpose, to being "expressly designed" to server some other purpose. What you don't do is provide justification for considering that a criteria of central importance. Tim
