And in america we should leave the politics to the professional clowns.

Most un-american crap I've read.

Leno also realizes that as a comedian, he has to be funny, and there is a certain art and talent in being politically humorous, and he's good at it, and this is why he enjoys the rank he's earned in television entertainment today... but people like sean penn and others of his ilk have no business abusing their celeb status by making political comments that reach beyond the limits of their celeb status... this is not a rule I'm proposing, this is merely an observation I'm making, that those who have overstepped their boundaries have already suffered the consequences of their ill advised remarks... obviously enough, the market place does not tolerate that kind of crap, and that's as American as can be...

Yes! Celebs like Bette Midler and Oprah Winfrey seem to think that they can make demeaningly insulting comments with no repercussions. As long as they hang out with partisans like Howard Dean, Hillary Clinton, Phil Donahugh, Michael Moore, etc. that belief will be reinforced. Only the imposition of the reality of falling sales has any hope of penetrating the veil of imagined invincibility.
