sshhhh.... you'll piss of SI DAVE. dude, a friend left with his two kids last nite at 2am. they are not out of the city yet. it is now going on 5pm. humidity is like 90% and 100 degrees. you have hundreds parked without gas everywhere. they ran out in the jamb. prolly out of water, cars full of pets and kids. so far, for some, the leaving is turning out to be as bad as what is coming...and worse if they took a back road. no chance of gas coming and they are sitting ducks tomorrow nite when the storm revs up. otoh.... storm COULD, now hit east of houston, putting us on the good side of it... far less wind, far less rain. if that happens, no big deal for houston per se. but too soon to tell. btw... for once, reporters here actually reported. virtually screaming at officials regarding the traffic nightmare. wouldn't let them off the hook AT all. all day long. quite refreshing to see the local people actually know how to report, let alone see them do it.
