But there is no arguing the fact that the US is spending more now than ever on entitlement programs.

One of the things I do not like about Bush is his refusal to say no to spending.

First of all, Bush is a spendthrift. He has no concept of money. And for someone like me who is a fiscal conservative, his spending habits are outrageous.

Secondly, the only entitlement program of any significance that has benefited from Bush is the one for seniors and their medication. Aside from the fact the bill was poorly written, the cost of the bill was inaccurate and required a significant revision upwards after the bill was passed. Its outrageous.

What has grown dramatically is pork. It has reached an all time in DC under the auspices of a GOP Congress who are supposed to be fiscally responsible.

In the meantime, the poor get poor in this nation. They are America's dirty laundry, and now, after NO, the entire world knows about them.

of course that wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with BUSH and his cadre of corporatists (and Frist the HMO king) doing NOTHING ABOUT THE COSTS OF HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICANS....no insurance...
no drugs from Canada....no oversite of hospitals and costs.....
it's just a wonder
