continued welfare society. Proved by looking at the folks in New Orleans that have no choices and no opportunity due to generations of self neglect, mothers with 4-5-8 kids and no fathers or multiple fathers that don't give a damn, and all thinking that the government owes them etc.

It has little to do with welfare and more to do with chronic and entrenched racism over generations and the American form of capitalism which does not provide its citizens enough protection should something castrophic or even significant screw up their lives....a lost job, unexpected pregnancy, the death of one parent, major illness etc. That allows more of the nation's assets and wealth to be concentrated in the hands of the rich. Consistently, decade after decade, the rich get a bigger and bigger share of the pie. At whose expense do you think that is happening?

And you talk about welfare. All that does is keep poor people barely alive.

Unless you are a multi millionaire, your attitude is not helping your situation but instead protecting those who don't care whether you live or die.
