Here's a little something I learned last hurricane season ... Subway sandwich shops will stay open under truly ludicrous conditions.

Wind howling, rain coming down in sheets, fallen trees littering the road ... it doesn't matter, the Subway will still be open and serving customers.

So if you get tired of eating canned food, find a Subway.

New rule number one: Evacuations NEVER go as planned. Just ask Ray Nagin or Bill White!

White reiterated that there is no safe place to stay in low-lying and flood-prone areas of the city, and there won't be shelters in the city.

Geez, at least Nagin had the Superdome to go along with his navy of stranded schoolbusses.....
