Tom, SLPH -- there is not enough desulpherization capacity in the world presently, and planned significant increases to such are several years (and billions of $$$) away. The world needs a near-term solution to this problem of inadequate worldwide capacity to handle sour oil.

SulphCo's units would never replace any existing desulpherization facilities, but rather just add to the worldwide desulpherization capacity.

I shouldn't have used the word scam as they seem to be making a sincere effort to commercialize Sonocracking and I apologize for that. However, I would suggest that the same results can be achieved through Visbreaking which is mild thermal cracking. Visbreaking is a fairly inexpensive process since the crude already must be heated almost to Visbreaking temperature in order to distill it. It seems doubtful that Soncracking/CrudeStilling would be more economical than Visbreaking/CrudeStilling. But you never know.
