The New York Times was a reasonably good paper albeit with a liberal bent, but during the Bush years, their frustration with having a Republican president has sent them completely over the deep end.

Here's the whole quote from this 4 month old article you site as proof that the NY Times is in fine shape (despite YESTERDAY's article about laying off 4% of their workforce and them losing money consistantly). I would think that you would note that they were delivering to almost 20% (19.55%) more markets (318/266) and the circulation was only up .2% (that's 1/5 of 1%). I'd say that if you have to deliver to 20% more markets for a .2% gain you may be in the decline and are desparately trying to fix it. Their hateful attitude towards America will make those who hate America (like you) like the paper more. Those of us who love this country think the paper stinks.

By almost any metric, the NY Times is doing well. Last year, its EPS was $1.96 on revenues of $3.3 billion. Its GM is 51%. Now let's contrast it with Fox's performance. Fox's EPS last year was $.66 on revenues of $20 billion. Its GM was 33%. True Fox grew their revenues faster than the NY Times but with a GM of 33% not much of that additional revenue gets to the bottom line.

In any case, I hardly think the NY Times is in any danger of immediate collapse.
