Simmons looked pissed and then Joe Kernan said, "obviuosly a nervous laugh there" a coverup for his obnoxiuos little buddy. finance.messages.yahoo.com Alook ahead from a blind fool by: Todd1956 09/23/05 09:58 am Msg: 122391 of 122476 I think its time for those rational persons of this well informed board to begin the dicussion of the upcoming problems as we all know that the damage is going to be extensive in the GOM. I am already privy to some platform news from the BP War Room , now in Ft. Worth TX as to bad news but will not post until a later date. There will be refining damage to some extent, there will be refining capacity decreases to some extent, there will be production delays due to electrical destruction, there will be GOM production destroyed, damaged, delayed etc. We can count on this to a greater degree than Katrina which is now a blip on the radar and almost forgotten in terms of supply problems going into winter. IMHO the main problem that isn't being addressed is that of how long is it going to take to get the massive number of evacuee's back to Houston and in a position of work again. We look at the tremendous problem of getting them out with perfect highways and minimal gasoline shortages. I can only imagine how long it will take for people to get back with potential highway damages, flooded sections, debris needed to be removed etc, etc. only to be greeted by damage to personal property, no electric, water etc which we have all seen as reality in NO... Not to add that NO is going to be hammered again by the periphery of Rita delaying the reumption of business as normal in the energy arena there as well. If it took a week to evacuate the masses under ideal transportation situations , the BIG PROBLEM is how long to get them home under what is going to be surely less than optimal after Rita... Just some thoughts this am before I get the mouse a clickin on the buy side of some temporary, delusional selling by the polyanna's and supposed prima donna investment experts at our brokerages and funds who once again are returning a sub par return to Americans on a massive scale. Just keep telling everyone that there will be no problems in the energy universe as denial will just keep allowing higher highs going forward to those companies that are minting cash in larger amounts without doing any extra spending or work..
