I'll have a look at what she sent. One thing that has been good is the Permal Fund of Hedge Funds (which is our biggest holding apart from all that cash) and the two Fidelity Funds are OK but time to sell some I think. We have one of these structured note things. It didn't do anything for a year and now it starts to do something. It is capital protected futures stuff. We are now onto our third or fourth "relationship manager" in three years. These ones are getting more clueless I think and so just offer junk that they are told to sell. My Mom picked this manager, I think because their fees were lowest of the two or three she interviewed :) I naively thought I wouldn't end up being responsible anyway for making the investment decisions... Like maybe a manager would at least say, "hmm this thing more than doubled do you want to rebalance?"

Rule of thumb - never touch anything with "tranche" in it anywhere. It just means some other entitiy has picked out the good stuff and wants to stick you with the crap.
