Delay's comment gives his opponent in next year's election a wonderful talking point. See the ad....a bunch of clippings in the background talking about bridges to nowhere, pork, etc., then have the soundbite of Delay's wonderful comment overlay it. Then the simple question: "Does Tom Delay represent your views on Federal Spending?" Sheesh, who wouldn't vote against a delusional egoist like that? The disconnect in congress is worse than the White House.
