It is 12:16 CST here and it is still quiet and hear no winds. Last report was heading over Port Arthur and Beaumont. We will be on the clean side of the hurricane but will have some winds around 2 to 3 a.m. They have not reported it has reached land yet, so I am going to watch for another hour and then I will retire, as I am getting tired from all of the anxiety of the day.

Everyone is asleep here but me, but my husband work up and came into my office about thirty minutes ago and I told him about the fire on the Strand earlier. He watched the TV for a few minutes and decided to go back to bed. The animals are all tucked in and are very quiet. No fighting or running around for them either, which is a surprise. Pitty Poo and Abigail usually have a round when Pitty Poo invades her territory and they are loud and really after each other. Both are declawed so they can't do a lot of damage to each other but make up for it by screaming at each other. Lovey Dovey has retired to her hotel and sleeping peacefully, when I checked on her last.

They are saying on CBS (Channel 11, meteorologist Neil Frank) that we may have a major rain producer on Monday, so our weather may not be over for a few days. Don't mind rain as we always seem to need it and saves on using the sprinkler system.
That might happen if the system stalls over land and hangs around a couple of days after landfall. Just hope it does not retreat to the Gulf and come in at another area, like us.

Yes, I have tons of candles, but they are asking us to use flash lights instead of candles because of the possibility of starting fires. We have lots of flash lights and extra batteries for them also. I bought more batteries from my son's dollar store when there and glad I did as I talked to him today and he said they had sold out of so many things yesterday. They did not go up yesterday because of the crowded freeways going North. They did talk with the shop and they closed the main street there so he told the girls to go home at 3 p.m. and be sure they were prepared and take anything they needed from the store.

Just heard my first ambulance siren a minute ago and it stopped so will hope they report what happened in the city in the morning. Have seen our neighborhood police driving around this evening. I do not know how many of our neighbors left, but have seen lights on next door and across the street. Absolutely no traffic on our street for hours.

It is now 1:0l a.m. and I am about to hang it up for the night. Again if our power does not go out during the morning hours will report in again when I wake up. It might be after noon as I usually sleep late in the morning when I stay up this late. Got to get my beauty sleep, for sure and will depend on my hubby to wake me up if I need to be up. It is kinda spooky not to see traffic at all, seems so quiet and like a ghost town. When the traffic that left returns it will probably be like it was going out, a parking lot for hours and hours. Really glad we do not have to go out for any supplies, but might return to the cafe we ate at tonight as they plan to be open for breakfast in the morning, that is if no fallen trees disrupt our leaving.
