A couple of aid initiatives by various countries never received approval by US officials.

I keep on recalling the Administration saying how they would "cut the red tape". I didn't expect that meant they wouldn't approve the assistance.

At least the THW pump teams were accepted.

It ticks me off that the Army Corps of Engineers is getting all the "credit" for pumping the water out of New Orleans and there's never a mention of the pumps from Germany.

I heard some commentators make cynical comments about "We're going to see who our friends are." ... Friends would acknowledge when they did receive assistance.
