First, all employers are required to pay into the unemployment insurance fund for all employees.

1. Tell that to tens of thousands of contractors, restaurants and small business owners throughout America who do not.

2. see 1.

3. national survey of households I don't believe so. You would have to show me that one. Every month we get a call from the government to find out if everyone is working or not? I don't think so.

4.published and available online from the Bureau of Labor Statistics You forgot to say "and adjusted by". I remember talking to a census worker who reported entire towns in California where nobody worked. 100% unemployment. But the figures for that town were thrown out, due to not falling in line with the expected median. Sometimes reality stings.

5. Free markets? LOL! The stock market does not trade freely. I have been proving that here for nearly 7 years now. I have shown consistently how market moves can be predicted many months ahead of time. Retail in most states are governed by jobbers and the like. . .hardly free. Oil? Dictated by traffic patterns. Realty? Realtors. Music? Payola is the order of the day. Unions still determine how big business and institutions are run. . . and often times who gets elected. Commodities are one of the least free markets. "Supply and demand?" LOL! Do they really think we were born yesterday?

So then where exactly is this "free market"? I'd like to invest there.

6. If I wanted to learn more about the economy and how it REALLY works, the LAST person I would go to would be an economist.

The world has changed dramatically. It is a shame so many people, economists, politicians and otherwise refuse to take their heads out of the proverbial sand, face the facts and create new measurements for these new dynamics.
