True, Saddam did not harbor Islamic fundamentalist terrorists. Why? Because they were his enemies too. Saddam was a secular leader. He slaughtered many thousands of Islamic fundamentalists. He cracked down on them. He went to war with fundamentalist Iran. He was an enemy of Al Qaida, not a friend.

One of the big lies Bush-Cheney told was that Saddam was in league with Al Qaida. On the contrary. Saddam was mainly a threat to his own people, as any dictator is. There is also no evidence he ever tried to kill Bush Sr. In fact, after the Gulf War and Clinton's bombing runs, he was relatively harmless inside the box we had him in, being frisked by the UN inspectors, no WMD's, SCUD's or air force. Also, don't forget, it was Reagan's administration which kept Saddam is power. Why? Because he liked to kill Islamic fundamentalists.
