kudos a.handbag! Very balanced posting.

Well I planned the play and played the plan and it feels good although I have now sold everything I bought this morning. HAWK, XEC, and CLL - I still hold all three.

Blue Lite specials - TDG (went down to 14.70s!!) - DAY (just announced 2 cent increase in dist and very excellent acquisition), PEY may be a decent buy here but probably not short term. I would also add TET.

Claude

Goodale made a knee jerk reaction by cancelling tax clearance and wiped Billions off the value of trusts effecting thousands of persons looking to this sector for income.

Surely it would have been better to call in the big boys (Bank/brokerage heads) and use some quiet moral suasion. This is what used to be done by good Government and it was quite effective at getting the Banks and investment community to react without disturbing the markets. Have your committees study the matter quietly and then after rational investigation publish a decision as to what you intend to do.

Judging by the short interest which materialized in Yellow Pages trust and others prior to Goodales announcement he or others in his department also possibly provided some advance info on his thoughts. I sure wish this country had a viable alternative to this present bunch of Liberals who have wasted and absconded with billions of our dollars.

See, I was right in calling Goodale rash. As soon as RBC said they were looking at converting he flipped. When asked if that influenced his decision, he said "Not at all"

Yeah, right. I have a brain, I can think for myself.

Markets have responded, shaving $5bn off trusts' value, YLO alone has lost $800m. Oh, how he will be remembered!

This is NOT the type of person investors like to see running a major market, and despite what some trust investors think, there are alternatives for yield and I have added to my portfolio the place of trusts. MSB, HGT, SID, PCU

No wonder Canadian dollar is selling off here. I wonder if that is what he and Dodge planned all along? Rash, but successful for him, not for investors.
