Without in any way commenting upon every little detail of the specific tactics used (I'm sure there was some significant level of bureaucratic incompetence, as per usual..., and I'm not up-to-speed enough to make a detailed critique of the tactics, anyway), I would say "YES", in answer to your question. Who cares what brand of religion is espoused by a law-breaking cult? I wouldn't give a damn if they were Voodoo cultists, or Bab-ists, or Shintoists.... Who cares? Why would that matter in any way?
