Exactamundo. If all the insurgents go home today, what have we done in Iraq? We've created a 2 1/2 year long violent power vacuum that's sucked up billions of our borrowed dollars, divided our country and demolished goodness knows how much of Iraq.

In the end we have a country that's split into 3 very unequal parts with a federal government friendly to Iran, Syria and Sharia laws.

Wolfowitz's original plan was to use Iraq as a model of 'democracy' and the center for the US military to launch wars of conquest on the rest of OPEC. Somehow Iraqi oil would flood the market, bankrupt OPEC and leave Israel free to build thousands of nukes...or something like that.
