Great post, and so true! Also totally agree with your observation on Bush and his speaking ability. Too bad he doesn't just tell everyone around him to shove it, and speak like Harry Truman, or any of the others have done. He does well when he speaks from his heart.

I agree that President Bush is not a highly skilled speaker. However, my criticism of him is not that he mixes up a word or two like the vast majority of us frequently do. My issue is that he has not been forceful enough when he speaks. Especially, during times of challenge or crisis or when he does his press conferences. IMO, the unwashed american public resonates with a leader, right or wrong, who speaks his mind. President Bush is too willing to tolerate a fool. The press quickly discovered this weakness in his character. The blogs have developed this idea into a cottage industry.
