What crap. You are so uninformed you should not even be speaking on the subject. I am not sure what lenght you folks will go to justify your untenable positions. There are few other stories as well publicized as the struggle of the military to recruit and retain. SF is paying its sargents up to $90K retention bonuses...West Point grads are leaving in droves at the end of their commitment. West Point, for the first time in years, has missed it's goal of applicants. Trust me pal...i know this stuff very well. estripes.com Al

The retention rate for WP grads is down to <20%...the army struggles to recruit...re-enlistment bonuses are up dramatically, particularly for the elite corps like SF, where patriotic fervor is highest...recruiters are being run out of the high schools...the support for the war among the citizenry is <40%...what do you need a 2x4 upside the head to get the message... Negative stuff was mostly suppressed while good stuff was heralded from one rooftop to the next. However, push has come to shove. After three years, the GOP has made a bad situation in the ME much worse. Iraq has turned into a virulent, Islamic cancer.......bringing out the worst in that religion and culture, and setting up America as the whipping boy of the world. This country could have not done worse had they made a 16 year old president. And inspite of one negative confirmation after another, you refuse to admit what is so obvious to everyone else. Its rather pathetic but then you are what you are.
