"How would you like it was the Atlanta "Christians" instead of Braves? What if the mascot was a charactature of a Bible fanatic and people waved plastic neon crosses around to "curse" the opposing team?"

How about the Crusaders? I like the idea of the neon crosses...you're a marketing genius. Let's buy the Texas Rangers and turn them into the Texas Crusaders!

Chop chop chop!

If it was the Atlantic "Christians" as you say, then the ACLU would be hopping up and down and some atheist would be suing everyone in sight....

PS: Seems the Indians don't mind their names all over the casinos.........but with the money they are making, I suspect they can justify that, right?

It wouldn't hurt my widdle feelings one bit. How do you think the Irish feel about the "Fighting Irish". Let me give you a hint, they dont give a rat's ass. And the Irish were a very highly discriminated group at the turn of the century. Your logic is less than pathetic, it's embarassing.

Uhh, since when did a Christian consider it an insult to be called a Christian? I am sure the ACLU would have a problem with it, but not a Christian. For that matter why would an Indian be insulted to be called Brave? It was because of the brave ferocity that we called their warriors Braves, because we were in awe at their fighting ability. In fact most polls of Indians agree that it is an honor for a great baseball team to use that name. But of course the ACLU doesn't care and would rather we call them indescript names that emasculate them.
