Again, you presume guilt before trail. Seems to be a very unbecoming trait of yours. Given Delay's case, and his accuser's, it's highly up in the air, I'd say.

Given Delay's track record, three times reprimanded by the Republican controlled House, and now indicted, I'd say it's highly likely that he's guilty. His accusers are a Grand Jury headed by a Texas sherif. That means that this non-partisan group of Americans found evidence of wrong doing and that the case needs to be brought to trial. Since they weighed the evidence for the full term of the Grand Jury, it would appear that they looked at the evidence pretty hard, and they brought an indictment. It's the first time in over 100 years that a speaker has been indicted.

Delay has shown his disrespect of the rule of law before. I suspect that he's guilty this time too.

Cheney and Delay are both political criminals. The evidence is clear to anyone with a brain. A CEO becomes VP and his company suddenly gets over 10 billion in new no-bid contracts. They are caught skimming and over-charging but only get a slap on the wrist.

In Delay's case, his modus operandi for a decade has been to control corporate money slush funds and use them like weapons. He is a huge thief of public money, arrogant skirter of laws and basically considered himself untouchable. If you think Boss Tweed was innocent you probably like Delay, but anyone with common sense can see that whether it's this charge or 100 others, the man is crooked to the core.
