That's not a bad beginning. Of course then our president today would be some obscure 4th or 5th party candidate that had no money to advertise and therefore didn't sling any mud.

I am really beginning to like the idea of term limits. Kinda like when a sports person is in the last year of their contract they always have a good year.

If Pols new they had no chance to be re-elected and so they weren't beholden to the special interest they could vote what is best, not just what will get them elected.

Of course beyond that you have a Party that is trying to remain in power. And they may apply pressure to the individual stepping down to vote to keep their party in power. Don't know how to release that strangle hold.
