Clinton was foolish, and was more foolish for lying to conceal an embarrassing personal affair that, in itself, was not a crime.

When he lied to the American people that day he was pounding on the podium, "I did not have sex with that woman!", well that was not a crime. When he said the same to a Grand Jury, that was a crime and IMO he should have been thrown out of office for the latter, but not the former.

So true. In 1963, John Kennedy and Barry Goldwater, the presumed nominees for the 1964 elections, reportedly talked of touring the country together to present their respective viewpoints to the people. Imagine that happening today.

IMHO, the low came with Kenneth Starr's multi-year $100 million investigation of President Clinton and the resulting impeachment proceedings. Starr was charged with investigating and clarifying Whitewater, then kept going and going and going...

I would go further back in history and say the low came with how the democrats and liberal media treated Ronald Reagan.
