Don't you use credit cards that return cash back to you? Many cards return 1%. Citi returns 1% on everything and 5% on gas, supermarket and drugstore purchases. Although Citi limits rebates to $300 per year. Well, I managed to have two of these Citi cards in my family. -g-

EDIT: I have a friend who bought a gas station. He hoped that he'd have a stable income. It turned out that credit card fees eat a big chunk of his little margin.
