The conservative revolution, which predated what you refer to as "the Bush rightwing revolution", is alive and well. I caught an interview with Douglas Brinkley, the Kerry biographer, on O'Reilly tonight. He is writing a book on Katrina. He blasted, and I mean blasted, New Orleans Mayor Nagin. I assume that the O'Reilly transcripts are posted on the web. I'll hunt the interview down and post it to you. Louisiana is a red state, and will remain one. I have noticed that whenever you refer to me as "pal", what you really mean is "asshole." If we were playing poker, that would be a tell. Please don't feel constrained in the future.
