John, are you saying that Universities like Yale and Harvard are crooked?

I'm not certain what your question is, Karen. It's reasonably well known that almost all private colleges/universities and a great many public ones have a separate admission policy for legacy kids (parents went to the school) and for the kids of the very wealthy (in the well proven belief the parents will give to the school).

Bush and JFK certainly benefitted from it. Don't know about Gore because I have no idea what his high school background was like. I don't think but don't know that his family was very rich so that's unlikely to have given him an edge up. But being the son of a prominent senator probably helped. He could have been in the grey area and the tie pulled him through. I just don't know.

Some keep asking about Kerry. I don't know about his background prior to Yale but it's important to remember that his Yale grades, roughly comparable to Bush's, failed to get him into a prominent law school. The comparison is a bit telling.
