Yeah, I never understand the idea of bating the bear or
deer to draw them in.

Seems like it takes away from the sport or challenge.

It seems like these people just take a lot of pleasure
of killing things.

I can respect a hunter (especially a bow hunter) who
uses his witt and skill to get close enough for a shot
and able to track it down afterwards.

Technology almost makes it too easy for some of these
hunters today. Special scents, clothing, calls, blinds,
etc.

Though I have to hand it to the Dept of Conservation, they really
do a good job at figuring out the numbers that will keep the
herd healthy.

There are other organizations like Ducks Unlimited that
actually buy and maintain breeding grounds for the water
fowl up in Canada so that they can prevent the wildlife
from disappearing.

In addition, the money that the hunters pay in license fees
and on the taxes applied to firearms, targets, etc get put
to work in helping to maintain the habitat and trails that
the hikers get to use for free.

I suppose there is some good things being done in exchange
for the thrill of the hunt.

Then there are always those a-holes who don't play by the rules
and do not regard life to be valuable. Kill for the sake
of killing.

They should dress these guys up in a turkey suit and send
them out into the woods on opening day.
