Re: Katrina - amazing. Huge strides in "fixing" things down here . But...

I live on the "northshore" (north of Lake Ponchartrain - St. Tammany Parish) in the suburbs of New Orleans. This is an area that was probably the fastest growing in the New Orleans metro area before the storm and has/had the associated growing pains associated with that growth - infrastructure that was behind in keeping up with the growth. I heard the parish president say the other day that prior to Katrina this parish had a population of approximately 210,000. Post Katrina we now have a population of 300,000+. The traffic is now gridlocked for about 18 hours of the day.

P.S. Being the savvy investor and real estate mogul that you are I have some good leads on some New Orleans real estate you can pick up on the cheap! Water frontage (or maybe that was water on it)...
