Re: "Why the cover up? Why hide things?"

I truly feel and see that abuses get investigated and people get punished without public exposure of all this. That's because our government DOES try to get it right, if not always succeeding. In this case, it is, as I've said before, obvious that publicizing this stuff is harmful to the war effort. Just be glad that we do investigate and punish, and remember that for those of us who feel the cause is righteous, the fact that it IS war, after all, means something here. This stuff shouldn't be released, and even the controversy over the question should have been kept under wraps 'til later. Let the Judge help ensure that things get fixed, sure, but it IS war, after all. A lot of Libertarians don't agree with this war, I'm sure. I'm not one of them. There is a decision to be made here, and perhaps the world would respect the fact that we would be open and honest about our failures, even as we show that we want to fix them. Truly the Judge is right to say the terrorists don't need a pretext for barbarism, but by god as so many of you on the left have in essence understood all along, further angering these fanatics indeed COULD be a problem, and "hinder" Abizaid's work against terrorism.
