Bush agrees with me. If it had no impact or was not stupid, GWB would have just said what you said. He saw it had far more impact potential politically, and he did not try to explain it, he distanced himself from it pronto.

I wonder why I can't find a full transcript of the exchange. There's an AP version, which is an extraction, being pumped out by every news source.

This is just another example of the LAZINESS of the media.
