Not in the manner he did. It was stupid. Don't take a morally repugnant act (abortion) and links it with a specific class of people for a desirable goal (reduction of crime) regardless of whether that class of people commit more of the offense. If you are a black middle class law abiding person, couldn't you take offense at even a hypothetical insinuation that your child should be aborted as well...because they are black as even a hypothetical means of achieving a desirable societal goal? I know what you are saying. I understand. I just think the comment was thoughtless and will hurt. There were ways he could have made his anti-crime response to the caller without mentioning blacks or any other racial group.
