If I remember correctly, what Nixon did do was to start operation line backer, a carpet bombing campaign that rightfully scared the crap out of the NV......

So, getting back to the original question, if Nixon had been president instead of Kennedy, would we have had the Bay of Pigs debacle?

I doubt it, and I doubt Castro would have remained in power.
