We know Saddam sheltered a fellow who helped try to bring down the WTC. We know Iraqi diplomats were expelled from the Phillipines for aiding an affiliate of Al Qaida there - in one case even driving a terrorist to a bombing location. We know Saddam sent assassins to kill former President Bush. We know plenty of other things I won't bring up for the sake of brevity.

Holding Saddam responsible for these hostile actions - some of which were acts of war - ought to be mean removing him from power. Which the Congress voted in favor of in 1998.

Or did you think that somehow justified invading the country Absolutely.

and creating widespread chaos? Ah, here you are blaming the wrong party. You should blame the people who are murdering school teachers and blowing up day laborers and market shoppers, etc. there - the folks the left refer to as "freedom fighters" and "Minutemen".

I'm fine with holding him to the same level of responsibility as the Saudis. If you can build an argument for invading Saudi Arabia, I'll consider it. In Saddam's case, the government of Iraq clearly sheltered and aided terrorists who had attacked Americans.
