Amy, most of the liberals saying "sorry" on this thread were to other liberals.

As for me personally, I've often taken back what I said if (a) the facts clearly contradict an assumption that I've made, or (b) my post was made based on a misinterpretation on my part, or (c) I've posted something totally off the mark without thinking about it.

Rarely do I ever say "I'm sorry" or "I apologize" unless I've clearly wronged someone (beyond the usual name-calling, which I suppose would require me to say a thousand "I'm sorries" to atone for).

How many "sorry"s did you find from John? I know about one case.

As for Patricia, she must be a unique woman indeed. Add to that, if being liberal, that would make her a true gem.

No wonder, I knew one Patricia in my life, she was a very unique woman and a true gem. No clue why I never married here. She left me and I can understand why now :)

I didn't include Ten & Alighieri & Tejek's sorries because they were not using the word as an apology.)

Actually, I had one:

In conclusion:

2 liberals said sorry as an apology
1 independent said sorry as an apology
1 ____(??? republican or conservative) said sorry as an apology

Regards,
Amy J
PS To be thorough, someone else can run this drill with the phrase "I apologize" (if it's meant as an apology) then add it to my results. But please excluse sarcastic apologies such ask, "I apologize for your ugly abc"

You can add one more liberal to your "sorry" total.......me! <g>

And its more common for me to say....I apologize rather than I am sorry. So I suspect you will find more if you did a search on apologize. I would but I don't have the advanced search capability.
