Probably both, but it takes one to know one.

Not in this case. Mr. Bennett has been telegraphing his stupidity for years; first by being an member of the GOP party and then by setting social standards he was hard pressed to maintain for himself. His latest public gaffe was to be expected. And his timing couldn't have been better! ;~)
